• KHAS YEP Kadir Has University Creative Industries Platform

Sectors based on individual creativity, talent and skill are called creative industries. Industrial design, advertising, architecture, crafts, fashion design, film, interactive entertainment software, music, performing arts, television and radio broadcasting are among these industries.

Creative industries, which have an accelerating effect on economic growth, are becoming more and more important every day due to the wealth and job opportunities they create. The contribution of creative industries to total exports and employment in the European Union, which is the leader in this field, is over 4% and is constantly increasing.

In our country, creative industries are growing faster than traditional industries. Turkey exported products in developing countries Creative Ranks # 4. In terms of the Turkish film industry, there is a steady increase in the investments and revenues in motion pictures, TV series and commercials. However, the sector also has many problems and deficiencies regarding financing, professional networks, qualified human resources, marketing and technical infrastructure.

Kadir Has University Creative Industries Platform (KHAS-YEP) is established with the aim of providing solutions to these problems and deficiencies and increasing the competitiveness of creative industries on a regional and global scale. This platform, which focuses on the film industry in Turkey will be the first and only creative centers.

There will be technical equipment in the building to be allocated to the platform in the Haliç Campus of the university to meet the needs of every stage of film production. In addition, the film set to be built on an area of ​​130,000 m 2 within the university will meet the demands of the industry.

In addition to these, the modern and economical digital content platform to be established will provide streaming media services. Thus, new and small producers will be provided with the opportunity to broadcast their films.

Also within the scope of the project, technical and social skills training will be provided for SMEs, start-ups, young entrepreneurs and creative individuals in the film industry. With networking events to be organized, producers, distributors, investors, small producers, start-ups, freelancers, graduates and students will be brought together. On the other hand, mentorship support will be given to selected projects during film production, post-production and distribution stages. There will be mentoring events where professionals from the film industry will be invited and share their experiences. In addition, an international film festival will be hosted by KHAS-YEP.

Thanks to KHAS-YEP, it is aimed to increase the competitiveness of SMEs, start-ups and micro enterprises against major players in the sector, thus contributing more to the national economy of the film industry. In addition, as a result of the activities of the platform, it is anticipated that Istanbul will become a unique center for the television and film industry and the city's tourism revenues will increase. However, progress in the film industry is thought to have a positive impact on other creative industries such as acting, photography, dance, music, architecture, literature, and fashion design.

Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to reduce the input costs of 100 SMEs and increase the sales and / or exports of 50 SMEs. On the other hand, it is expected that 18 new job areas will be created in the supported enterprises, thus contributing to employment.
