Deep technologies create new worlds. Artificial intelligence, internet of things, biotechnology, robotics, deep technologies created by virtual and augmented reality applications mean unique products, new industries, new markets ... If you can use deep technologies sufficiently, your transition from productivity economy to innovation economy becomes easier and faster. .

However, insufficient financial infrastructure, lack of support mechanisms for entrepreneurs, inadequacy of R&D studies are the obstacles to the innovation economy.

İzmir is a city that closely follows developments and innovations with numerous organized industry and technology development zones within its borders. It stands close to deep technologies and innovation economy, especially with its potential in information and communication technologies, industrial machinery, chemistry, food and beverage sectors. However, start-ups and entrepreneurs in these sectors lack a fully equipped product and business development program and infrastructure for deep technologies.

Here, the D-TECH4ENT project was prepared as an answer to this deficiency. The Deep Technology Incubator (D-Tech) to be established in the Aegean Technopark Technology Development Zone will carry out studies to eliminate these deficiencies. The incubator, in which there will be a hardware workshop, life science facility and consultancy and investment laboratories, will serve as a "hatchery" for deep technology.

The project, which will be based on university-industry cooperation, will be with start-ups and entrepreneurs operating in the field of deep technologies with its competent researchers and administrative staff. It will support entrepreneurs to achieve low-cost R&D infrastructure, and to increase their innovation, product development and commercialization capacities.

Within the scope of the project, trainings covering marketing, financing and management areas will be organized in order to increase the technical capacities of start-ups operating in the deep technology sector.

Following the trainings, a match-making meeting will be held in İzmir to bring together corporate companies, investors and start-ups, which are part of the relevant ecosystem, to increase their cooperation opportunities. In addition, Derin Teknoloji Start-up Summit will be organized. In addition, a deep technology-focused incubation program will be applied to start-ups. A two-day "demo day" will be held in Izmir at the end of this program, which will consist of four stages of roadmap creation, product development, product marketing, and fundraising. Regional, national and international components of the deep technology ecosystem, investors and selected start-ups will attend the demo day. In addition, by organizing study visits abroad with the participation of start-ups, it will be ensured that these companies meet the investors and institutions in the sector as well as the potential markets and customers.

Deep D-TECH4ENT Technology incubator's success with other existing technoparks in Turkey will provide, labs, is expected to create a model for technology transfer office. In particular, in the 5 years following the establishment of the incubator, success stories in terms of commercialization of deep technologies are expected to emerge, and entrepreneurs and investors in the region are expected to be encouraged.

Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to prototype 12 new and innovative products and to make 6 national and 2 international patent applications. On the other hand, 12 women researchers such as engineers and technicians are expected to participate in R&D projects. Creating 12 new research jobs and establishing 7 innovative businesses in the enterprises supported within the scope of the project are also among the targets.
