The first study visit under the "Technical Assistance for Enhancing the Rare Earth Elements Research and Innovation Capacity of Türkiye” Project has started on 17 September in Germany. The visit focuses on recycling of rare earth elements (REE) from electronic waste. The delegation is headed by Dr. Ali Murat Sürekli Deputy Director General of Directorate General for Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and consists of experts from the Directorate General for Industry, Directorate General for EU and Foreign Relations and General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA). As part of the programme first Technical University of Clausthal’s Institute for Processing, Recycling and Circular Economy Systems was visited. The work of the institute on REE were presented and the laboratory facilities were shown. The work of MTA in this field was discussed and a presentation on the structure and work of REWIMET - Recycling Cluster for Economically Strategic Metals was given. Afterwards the delegation visited the Rammelsberg Mining Museum in Goslar which is UNESCO World Heritage site.
