Within the framework of our program, Denizli Technical Textile Center (DTTM), which was established within the body of Denizli EU Business Development Center (ABIGEM), of which Denizli Chamber of Commerce (DTO) is the beneficiary, was attended by our Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank and the representative of the European Union Delegation to Turkey Angel Gutierrez Hidalgo de Quintana. was put into service with the participation of The center, which was established on an area of 1,000 square meters, will provide companies with the opportunity to produce prototypes.
In his opening speech, Minister Varank pointed out that textile is one of the most important sectors of Turkey in terms of its contribution to national income, its share in industrial production, investment and employment it provides, and said, “Our country is among the 3 largest suppliers of the EU in textile and ready-made clothing. According to the updated data, we achieved another record in the textile sector and achieved an export of 9.5 billion dollars in the first 11 months. It is not possible for us to maintain this success with our old habits and products. Thanks to the support we provided, one of the sectors with the highest foreign trade surplus today was textile, ready-made clothing and apparel. Mr. Ali Babacan would gather the textile manufacturers and say, 'Leave these sectors, there is no future with these sectors', but at the point we have reached today, textile is among the sectors with the highest foreign trade surplus. We do not look at things from one side. We are a country of 85 million people. Of course, we invest in technology, R&D and value-added products, but we also have to invest in sectors with a high human density and create employment. The number of our competitors who can produce innovative and quality products is increasing day by day. In addition, the expectations of users and global brands are increasing. Now we need to go one step beyond the production of fascia,” he said.
