Industrial Design of the Future Rising from Eskişehir - Eskişehir Design and Innovation Center (ETİM) opened
The Eskişehir Design and Innovation Center (ETİM), which was established in Eskişehir OIZ within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program, financed within the framework of the financial cooperation of the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, was opened on October 3, 2022 with a ceremony attended by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank.
In order to meet the engineering, design and prototyping needs of SMEs operating in pioneering sectors such as aviation, rail systems, machinery manufacturing, automotive and white goods in Eskişehir, within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Eskişehir Design and Innovation Center (ETİM) works have been completed.
Established on an area of 1,100 square meters in Eskişehir Technology Development Zone - Organized Industrial Zone Campus, ETİM's stakeholders include Eskişehir OIZ Directorate, Eskişehir Chamber of Industry, Osmangazi University, Anadolu University, Rail Systems and Eskişehir Aviation clusters.
“A center where dreams are designed, developing with innovation”
With ETİM, it is aimed to increase the competitiveness of SMEs operating in aviation, rail systems, machinery manufacturing, automotive and white goods sectors in world markets with innovative products. At ETI, which aims to directly contribute to the development of engineering capabilities of SMEs, studies will be carried out to reduce the foreign trade deficit of our country and to increase the competitiveness level of the region. ETİM, which will make significant contributions to the country's industry, is aimed to become a center where dreams are designed and developed through innovation.
EDICtive Design Contest
Within the scope of the project, training programs and workshops were organized in order to improve the capacities of SMEs, and successful innovation centers abroad were also examined. In addition, five pilot projects were accepted and implementation and production processes were started. Within the scope of the project, a design competition called EDICtive Design Call, which seeks creative solutions to minimize energy consumption in industrial facilities, was also launched. Within the scope of the competition, which can be applied until October 17, 2022; compatible with machinery manufacturing, white goods, automotive, aviation, rail systems sectors; Prototype production of a solution proposal to a problem to be defined in heating and cooling systems will also be carried out with the infrastructure of ETİM.

The opening ceremony, which was held on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 11:00, was attended by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Head of the European Union Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, Eskişehir Governor Erol Ayyıldız, Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone Chairman Nadir Küpeli, ATAP A.Ş. It was held with the participation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors Metin Saraç. After the speeches, ETİM Machinery Park was visited. After the visit, a cocktail and music concert took place.
