Opening Ceremony of "Revitalization of the Tourism Sector in Adıyaman"

Opening ceremony of the visitor reception centers established in front of the “Commagene Cultural Center and the landscaped Cendere Bridge, Kahta Castle, Kızılin Bridge, Karakuş, Arsemia, Palanlı, Taşgedik, Kuyulu, and Old Besni ruins, which were carried out within the scope of the Revitalization of the Tourism Sector Project in Adıyaman, 23 September It was held in Adıyaman Democracy Park in 2022 with the participation of Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank.

The project, which has a budget of approximately 6 million Euros, is financed within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, within the framework of financial cooperation of the European Union and the Republic of Turkey.

Within the scope of the project, the Commagene-Focus (K-ODAK) Building was built in the city center, while visitor reception centers were built in 9 different ruins and landscaping was completed. At the end of the project, which aims to strengthen the social and economic infrastructure in the city by ensuring the promotion and branding of Adıyaman, it is aimed to increase the competitiveness of SMEs operating in the tourism sector, to increase the number of tourists coming to Adıyaman, to extend the length of stay and to increase the added value obtained from the tourism sector.

With the project, the landscaping of historical areas and the construction of visitor reception centers were completed in a short time. With the technical assistance components to be made to the city, tourism value chain, benchmarking and tourism demand analysis studies were carried out. Within the scope of the project, tourism products and tour packages are designed, and promotion and marketing activities are emphasized. In the ongoing phase of the project, promotional materials will be prepared and promoted at fairs, promotional films will be published on the website, mobile application and training will be given to tourism stakeholders.

The program aims to increase the competitiveness of our country by reducing the foreign trade deficit and increasing efficiency, especially with projects for R&D and innovation. With the project, it is aimed to increase the competitiveness of SMEs and entrepreneurs and to provide social and economic development in Adıyaman.

Commagene Cultural Center was visited at the opening ceremony, which started with the project presentation on Friday, September 23, 2022, and the exhibition and cine-vision show were watched. After the music concert and cocktail held in the garden of Adıyaman Museum, a trip was organized to the Nemrut Mountain National Park, the working area of ​​the project.
