TUBITAK organised a very vital and successful online Horizon 2020 Green Deal International Networking Event on 23rd October 2020 that hosted more than 500 Turkish and European participants under the scope of Turkey in Horizon 2020 Phase-II Project” of which Contracting Authority is the Ministry of Industry and Technology and is supported by the Competitive Sectors.
The event commenced with valuable speeches by distinguished participants; TUBITAK President Prof. Hasan Mandal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs & Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Fatih Kacır, European Commission DG Research & Innovation Deputy Director-General Signe Ratso, EU Delegation to Turkey Minister Counsellor Eleftheria Pertzinidou, and continued with the sessions under 4 different Green Deal main topics that partook simultaneously.
Following the parallel workshops managed by the concerned National Contact Points from TÜBİTAK and where the representatives of the European Commission made presentations, close to 1500 one-to-one meetings were organized that allows participants from all over Europe to meet with Turkish peers, and within the scope of networking and possible cooperation between Turkish and European participant a major achievement has been obtained.
EU Commission representatives, which took place in all three pillars of the event, underlined that Turkey is a key stakeholder in all areas and emphasised Turkey’s strong impact on both Green Deal and Horizon Europe programmes would grow significantly in Horizon Europe Programme and extended their best wishes to all stakeholders in Turkey.
