The first manufacturing Common Use Facility of Turkey is opened - 15/01/2020

Under the Competitive Sectors Program that is jointly run by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the European Union, Turkey's first producing Common Use Facility (CUF) opened in Gümüşhane that is built by the Eastern Black Sea Development Agency. The center has a packaging and cardboard box production line and it will be producing 4 tons of fruit pulp a day. The Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank at the opening ceremony said "This center directly and indirectly create employment of about one thousand 500 people and 5 million lira annually contribute to the provincial economy".

Established with an investment of approximately 8 million Euros, this center is the first CUF of the Eastern Black Sea region and one of the largest public investments in Gümüşhane. In this center, which has a capacity of 20 workshops in a closed area of 9 thousand square meters, there is also a common pulp production line and common packaging facilities. Because it has its own production line, companies will only pay for operating expenses instead of paying for their own machine investments. In addition, the production of parcels and packaging materials at CUF is planned to be saved from stock costs.

It is expected that this center will create employment directly and indirectly for approximately 1,500 people and will contribute 5 million TL to the provincial economy. Businesses graduating from this CUF, which is expected to serve companies in Gümüşhane and its region, and they are expected to compete in overseas markets.
