"We will bring the world's first Licensed Dried Apricot Warehouse to our city. Malatya has 17 percent share in fresh apricot production and 75 percent share in dried apricot production in the world. Again, more than 60 percent of the world exports are made from dried apricots. we are talking about a highly strategic agricultural product.
This investment in Malatya will prolong the supply of dried apricots. The machinery and equipment necessary for processing and packaging apricots for common use will be included here. In this way, we aim to increase the cooperation between SMEs and the competitiveness of SMEs. 40 percent of the electricity needs of the facility we will establish will be met by solar energy. Here, we will also establish a laboratory where necessary tests and analyzes can be performed to ensure product standardization.
We will also implement the dried apricot exchange with licensed warehousing. We will facilitate the trade of dried apricots with electronic product bills. Thanks to these bills, the product can be used as collateral, converted into cash and the cash needs of the producers can be met quickly. The stockholders will have access to up-to-date information and control over their products, so that business transactions can be carried out safely, quickly and efficiently. There is no doubt that this investment will return to Malatya as well as to our country in many times as added value. We will gain a permanent advantage in the dried apricot, in which we are the world leader in export."
