ICTurkey 2019 has gathered nearly 400 European and Turkish researchers and private sector representatives to develop project partnerships and for a one-to-one meetings for “5G", “Next Generation Internet”, "Digitalization in European Industry”, ”Big Data and Applications” and ”Smart Health Applications" areas in Istanbul.
The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, TÜBİTAK President Dr. Hasan Mandal, European Union Delegation to Turkey Head of Economic and Social Development Section Angel Gutierrez Hidalgo De Quintana, Program Manager of ECSEL JU Yves Gigase, Assoc. Dr. Müjdat Soytürk and Arçelik R&D Unit Director Nihat Bayız made speeches.
The event, organized by TÜBİTAK, was attended by academicians, private sector representatives, non-governmental organizations, municipalities and other institutions / organizations who are experts in the related fields of the European Union's Horizon2020 Program. Thanks to the Project Market event organized in the field of information and communication technologies, Turkish academicians, private sector representatives, municipalities and other public institutions and NGOs took the opportunity to cooperate with participants from Europe in line with their ideas and areas of expertise. In addition, the National Contact Points of the relevant fields were also present in order to convey the questions of the participants to the project proposal development and consortium works.
100 foreign researchers / private sector representatives of sustainable cooperation from more than 29 countries interviewed grabbed the opportunity of evaluating topics of opportunities to participate in development projects in Turkey to join around 300 of Turkey Research Area.
Within the scope of the event, participants arranged face-to-face interviews and set personal interview schedules before the event through an online program. Participants gathered around 75 meeting tables within the scope of a special layout prepared in the event hall and held approximately 1200 face-to-face interviews. This dual public and private sector representatives from Turkey attempts to call in talks with the European title in Ufuk2020 Program stakeholders and exchanged views on joint projects opportunities.
"ICTurkey2019" event has the distinction of being the first of two international projects market the event which will be organized by the TUBITAK Horizon2020 National Coordination Office within the scope of "Horizon2020 in Turkey II" project.
The seven-year Horizon 2020 Program (2014-2020) is the largest civil R&D and Innovation program in the world with a budget of € 80 billion. "Horizon 2020 Turkey-II" project with the objective of increasing the participation of Turkey's Horizon2020 Program, R&D and strengthening the innovation capacity and aims to ensure the integration of Turkey into the European research area. This project is financed by the European Union and Republic of Turkey and TUBITAK as the main beneficiary and the Contracting Authority is the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
